The Robotic Drum Filler is designed is used used to fill drums, totes, barrels, IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) and other large volume containers.

The tote or other containers are placed on a pallet and are transferred by the infeed conveyor to the filling section of the machine. The bungholes on the containers are usually arranged off-centric and in different random angular positions on each container of the pallet. The recognition and location of these bungholes are performed with a precise vision system using a robot 3D surface scanning smart camera.

Once the bunghole is located, the precisely calibrated filling process starts. With the drums filled, the pallet is ready to be transported by the output conveyor to its next processing station.

Features

Using 3D surface scanning, the robotic system detects where the bungholes are located and send their coordinates to the main PLC.
The system can precisely locate the bungholes regardless of the non-alignment of the containers or any inclination on the pallet.
The robotic drum filler doesn't require a changeover for each product and/or container type. All that is needed is an adjustment on the HMI operator panel.
